Best Buy has Insignia's new NS-BRDVD Blu-ray player listed on their website for $349.99. Unfortunately, it doesn't say if it supports BD-Live or even Profile 1.1.

It kinda looks like that fugly Funai player.

If it's the wally world Funai, which it probably is, it should support 1.1, but 350 is still too high a price me thinks.
My local BB still has a Panasonic DMP-BDP10a they want 499 for as a open box demo, I picked up the same player at CC for 170 in the same condition....hmmmmm, It's only 1.0 too.

From what I've read the Funai and Insignia are the same machine.

Makes you wonder why Insignia wants an extra $50.

Because it's such a high end brand/product

Because there are a lot of people who would pay $50 more for something to not shop at Walmart.

Not only is it butt ugly, it doesn't appear to decode all the new audio codecs. Very poor investment IMO.

True that, but this unit doesn't seem to even decode TrueHD completely, just 2.0 according to the specs I've read. Another weakness is it's lack of 5.1 analog audio outs, for $350 your sure not getting much. It's essentially only a transport, and of course for another $50 you can get the PS3. Sony sure must be hated right now by the other Blu-ray hardware manufactors.
I'd like to know why DTS HD and DTS HD Master are giving so many manufactors trouble. They are getting to be more and more common, Universal has chosen DTS-HD to be their audio codec of choice for Blu-ray.
