But when i test at max. speed the error-rate must be higher that at low speed, I think. When i can test the media with the DVD-Rom at lower speed, the result must be still better.

Can someone please post another link to this version? CD Freaks appears to be down at this point. (And yes, I already did a Google search and came up empty).

Thanks!

Now that's good news. Very useful additions!

I take it that the chipset restricts you to one sample size for the ECC sum for PI and PO. The option of doing PI Sum 8 and PO (Sum 1) in 1 scan would be great if possible!

If that could be done.... wow! most of our testing time would be cut in half!!

Well I just got a 451s, and I'm not too impressed with the figures it's giving me so far.

Finickety media getting <200 average PI scanned at 4x, 8ECC? This can't be right.

I was expecting some truly horrible scans from some discs, and it just didn't happen. Why?

Oh, and I've noticed that you get higher PI if you minimise KProbe, or switch off the real-time scan.

Something is definitely not quite right here :( TBH the 166s gave scans closer to what I would expect. Grrrr....

I have only been using Kprobe for a little while and though this might have been covered already in the 33 pages previous, I have searched for around an hour and have not found out any specific information.

The problem I am having is that I get DRASTIC differences in results from K Probe with the same DVD-R's on the same system, example :

Disc #1 - Verbatim DVD-R (mc00rg200 1x on Pioneer A04)
Image

Disc #2 - Verbatim DVD-R (mc00rg200 1x on Pioneer A04)
Image

Now both of these DVD-R's play (they are PS2 games) so the access is sporatic, yet from the graphs, you'd assume that disc #2 would be nearly totally unreadable, and the PS2 laser is a picky laser, it doesnt like to play anything but high quality burns/discs. I have been unable to find out any patterns or anything, but since I found this oddity, I have been running K Probe on every single Verbatim DVD-R that I have, and a good portion of them are like #2, then a few look just like #1. I have re-run KProbe on several discs, same results each time.

Any ideas? I ahve been reading up on KProbe, and will in time learn a lot more, but for now, this is a glaring oddity.

Thanks for any help.
