I take it by the omission that 95251 isn't MCC with Azo dye...

I have some DataLifePlus 48x CD-Rs made in Mexico, and some plain Verbatim 52x CD-Rs also made in Mexico but with CMC ATIP. I noticed something about the hub serials on these; the DLP discs have a serial that starts with "A" which I assume is for Azo while the CMC discs have one that starts with a "P" probably for Phthalocyanine.

If you look at the discussion in the threads I linked, you'll see that cfitz had DataLifePlus "Made in Mexico" that were excellent. The ones I stumbled over were the cheaper line (DataLife in Europe, probably ValueLife in N.A.).

Of course this was 3 years ago, so things may have changed. And maybe Verbatim has done something re. quality control. I haven't had further problems with their media (but I've avoided anything that could be CMC )..
