if they can pull off colour, I think it will REALLY help Lightscribe attract customers. A few other manufacturers of the media would help pricing too!

Old news to me. HP has been talking about color discs for a couple of years now. Heck, Verbatim even had some on display at CES this year.

IMHO- A much more important problem to solve is the very tedious rendering time. I can deal with monochromatic more easily, than lengthy process time.

If a project is important enough for a "professional Look" to it, I probably need multiple copies. Making one Lightscribe disc takes too long, let alone 10 copies.

Well, with Lightscribe version 1.2 they improved the speed of the labelling process... and a name like 1.2 makes it sound like it's a step in the direction of a version 2.0. If Lightscribe can proove itself as a viable product, I think we'll end up seeing more reasonable labeling speeds.

Unfortunately, we're stuck with the crappy labelling times currently

Seemly by making the "best" setting equal to the old "normal" setting...1.2 discs always look alot lighter than the old 1.0 discs

If they can bring the price down, the Duet printer from Elesys.net looks better. Photo quality labels printed on inkjet media while the disc is still spinning in the recorder. Kind of a trade off between the higher price and the time saved in printing, but if you have a home business, might be an option.
