Bestmedia/Platinum mostly have Ritek.

Does anyone have experience with this media?

These come in 2 versions ritek-D03 and Ritek-S04.

SO far I only have seen the S04 version in action with ussable results. (it's not verbatim but it's not horror like ritekD01 !)
D03 is supposed to be the better one of the 2.

Well I would say that RitekS04 is much better suported.

At this moment I would say that Ritek S04 and D03 are probably better options as CMC MAG D04.

Your best shot at 8x is currently with a Lite on.

However I have some good hope in a new firmware update for you benq incase of support !

I have no hope for it because Benq was sold to Liteon :(

Hrm... so far LiteON's perform the best with this media.... and Philips' own OEM drives still need support for this media, which requires the BenQ drives to also gain support.

I thinking of buying a new writer, but don´t know which one. I still don´t trudt Lite-on that much, but it could be a nice drive for scans

I'm also considering a LiteON, and for the exact same reason! :D

I think I wait for the 18x and 20x-writers, maybe they offer very good quality @16x ;)

I saw the scan

Looks very good for DL-media, I guess? Is it a challenger for Verbatim DL, or is this writer very good with this media?

That's a heck of a lot better than Ritek-S04. I haven't found a drive yet that handles that media well yet.

The S04 or the CMC?

In one of my stores I saw 10 pie. cakebox 2,4x +R DL-media, Memorex and Philips. Any thoughts who made em?

Memorex is Ritek and the Philips is CMC.

Thanks :)

When I see the scan of the 8x CMC burned @4x,am I right that this media looks better than the 2,4x from CMC and Ritek?

This media seems to be very good. I tried it now in my H22L, which only support 4x, but it also burns very good.

Next times I burn DL I will try it in my H10N@H12N or Plextor 755.

My good 1640 make probs since last week, so I don´t test this media with it. My Asus 1612 only support 2x(!) on this media, I hope it´s not a prob with my not so new Nero 6.6.1.4. I don´t wnat to try this media in my LiteOn 18A1H because this drive loosk not very reliable, it destroyed a Philips 16x -R (MBI 01RG40) and a MXL RG03.

Don´t want to waste this DL-media, damn, I should have bought more, it was cheap.

This media looks pretty nice for me :)

Liteon is no longer interesting for me, many guys who have a 18x Liteon are not recommend it :-?

I wait for new Pioneer or LG

Bought 10-pcs-cakebox 2day at Alternate:

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R-DL:RITEK-D03-001]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R DL] - [DVD+R DL]
Manufacturer Name : [Ritek Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [RITEK]
Media Type ID : [D03]
Product Revision : [001]
Blank Disc Capacity : [4,173,824 Sectors = 8.55 GB (7.96 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [2.4x , 3.3x-8x]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier V5.0.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've had quite good luck with Philips branded CMC MAG D04-00 & a LG H22N, at the only available 4X speed. Scans over 90% on DVDInfoPro, BenQ 1655 scanner. Haven't tried either of my BenQ's to burn though after having read Dolphs scans. Bot them for $30 also at FutureShop. For the money, I'm satisfied.

@scour (and others):
please link to the post at the Gleitz forum where the screenshot was posted, not just the picture. That makes it easier to follow up their discussion. Thanks.
