The spike at the end kinda worries me, but it's not bad. Me like so far :)

More results & Lite-On scans as I get 'em done.

Unlike the Imation "Forcefield" discs, fingerprints seem to stick like glue to these :(
But that scratch proofing works pretty darn good! Far, far better than the ForceField discs (which got scratched after I dropped one on the floor. Landed on carpet, picked right up, and scratched  ).
Gonna order more...

But it has 815 PI Failures! You better throw that disc away!

Sorry.. inside joke between Dolph and I.

Had a scan of some Verbatium 16x media burned at 8x on my 1620 with a PIF total of 9.

Forgot to back up my media tests when I reformated though, and haven't seen anything close since. Oh well.

Same disc as above, scanned with Lite-On 165H6S HS0E.

NOTE
This scan was done after my imprompto scratch-resistince test. Disc was not badly damaged, but had a few small scuffs on it. So don't read to much into this scan.

Also, better to use KProbe or CDSpeed for scanning with Lite-Ons? CDSpeed would be more consistent for me, but if the results are different...

Edit: Hmm...guess the actual scan would help.

Pioneer 111D, FW 1.29, at 12x:

Again with the spike at the end. Gotta try these at 8x in this drive...

KProbe scan:

They seem decent enough. I'd suggest running a transfer rate test with the BenQ, though, because that PIE mountain *could* be a sign of high-speed readability issues

Hmm. BenQ 1620 reads DVD-Rs at 8x max. Did not know that (I have used the 1620 for two things since I bought it: burning, and scanning).

Anyway, here's the transfer rate graph from the 1620, for the disk burned in the Pioneer:

You can remove the riplock with MCSE if you deem fit :D

Transfer curve from the Lite-On. NOTE: I installed the read-speed unlock patched firmware from this post on. So this is a truer stress test, reading at 16x:

Oh yeah...don't get much better than that 8)

I don't have a need to remove the riplock from the 1620. That is the 1st & probably last time I'll read a disc in that drive other than with CDSpeeds quality check :)

but if you do remove the riplock with MCSE you could do Disc Quality scans @ 16x ! :P

No label. They're "raw" discs, silver surface. Spindle label says "For use with Prism Printers and Silkscreen Printers."

Linky.

Now I need to come up with some more cash to grab some more.

This was the first time I've seen these discs in any form, anywhere. They work great, so I can deal with the higher cost...
