The manufacturer's part number is correct, but everything listed can and has been spoofed in the past with various counterfeit product. It's best to look at serial numbers and stamper codes for being sure of authenticity.

Can I buy the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's and still get good burns?Or do I have to buy 16x disc's?

The 8x discs are fine. I've had great results at both 8x and 16x.

TY media burns great on just about any burner... It get outstanding results on my:

BenQ DW1640
LG GSA-H22N
LG GSA-H62N
Pioneer DVR-212D
Plextor PX-716A
Plextor PX-755SA

Thats all of them (plus one more Pioneer DVR-212D)... got them installed in two PC's. I just sent a BenQ DW1620 to my sisters PC and donated another burner (LG GSA-H12N) and PC to the Kenosha Women and Children's Horizon center.

TY and Verbatim (especially DVD+R DL!!!) is the way to go.

Yeah,while we're on the subject of DVD+R DL.I'am still confused to which drive does best with DVD+R DL Disc's?

Mostly do very well with Verbatim DVD+R DL 2,4x

Not easy to say whats the best writer for this, but I think a Pioneer 111/112/212 or real Plextor (760, 755)
