Hi all,

I have problems with this combination; it is not possible to format and write on this media with Samsung S202J (SB01)? Actually, I formatted this media (FAT32 in WinXP SP2) for once but after that (when i tried to write on this) my system locked up and after restarting the system I got an error - "Medium Format Corrupted" (but for just one side of it - other side of the media can't be formatted but without this error) while formatting/writing again. I also tried with DVDForm and InCD, but nothing changed, got an same error. I don't think that it's TDK's fault/fail; any suggestions?

thanx for replies.

Actually, you can format DVD-RAM with FAT32.

I'm not sure why that TDK disc doesn't work with the drive. Does anyone know if it supports the double sided 9.4GB media?

As Ian said, it can be formatted as FAT32 that is suggested for XP users rather than formatted as UDF mostly that is suggested for Vista users.
I think, it supports this Type 4 DVD-Ram, because it recognized and formatted this media without any problem before this error . Maybe I should try it with Vista or different DVD-Writer (but which brand?). I guess it's Samsung's fault, but I don't know why?
