Whatever became of Proxomitron?

Does anyone know what happened to the Proxomitron web filtering proxy software?

Two weeks ago, after not having visited the Proxomitron home page for quite a long time, I tried to take a look to see if a new version was out. However, the home page was out of commission. It displays nothing but a message saying "vanished/gone". I checked some Proxomitron forums, but they didn't have any news about Proxomitron being ended, so I thought maybe it was a temporary web-site problem. Unfortunately, I just checked again and the web site is still out of commission, so now I don't think it is simply a temporary glitch.

Anyone know what is going on?

All I know is that version 4.5 came out on 5-22-03 even though the website is down. I've read that the website is just down because of account problems with the hosting or something. I am not sure how accurate that is.

Is it enough to exchange the old Proxomitron.exe-file with the new updated 4.5-exe when upgrading from 4.4 to 4.5 or is it better to install the whole new package over the old one?

I removed the old version and then installed 4.5. Make sure to get the June build.

You can get it here, a site that appears to be trying to build something back up from the wreckage of the May fiasco:

There is also the "official" Proxomitron forum run by the Arne Flaten (the apparent instigator if not the cause of the May melt-down :( ):

I don't fully understand the politics of what all went wrong, but suffice it say the end result is a shame. :(
