Please help me, I need to learn how to copy a data cd to a rewritable cd without it tagging it read-only and to edit these cds. My job depends on it, lol. Any help you can give me is most appreciated.

I am curious as to your statement that "my job depends on it". What kind of job do you have that requires you to do this kind of conversion?

Files copied from a data CD will always be read-only because that attribute is set by default to this non-rewritable medium. The only way that the read-only attribute can be removed on a rewritable disc is when it is used in a rewritable mode, i.e., packet writing.

You could try copying a data CD using a packet writing program, but if it works this will change the format from a standard ISO 9660 data format to a UDF format and may affect the functionality of the disc.

Thank You

Thank you so much for your answer. I put my job depends on it, cuz I'm fairly new, and couldn't figure it out and my boss is a teensy bit, well, Type A personality. As for your answer, I was afraid you were gonna tell me that. I will work on a word-around and pray that it works. Thanks so much for your help.
