Software to create DVDDecrypter compatible ISO image?

I am looking for software that can create a DVD ISO image that I can
burn using DVDDecrypter. I have been successful in burning an image
I created with DVDDecrypter (a DVD video backup), but I keep failing
to burn a DVD data disk using Nero 6.0.0.19. So, I want to try creating
an ISO image of the DVD data disk and burn it with DVDDecrypter to
narrow down if I have Nero problem.

Nero has failed three times after it finished burning, it keeps failing to
while it is writing the LeadOut. I'm using a Pioneer 106 with 1.07
firmware (using an external USB 2.0 enclosure), and Optodisc gold
4x DVD-R media.

Thanks!

Since you already have Nero, you could try having Nero create the ISO file, and then try writing it to the DVD with DVD Decrypter.

In Nero select the Image Recorder (DVD) as the recorder. Then when Nero prompts you for the filename select ISO as the file type, enter the filename you want, and Nero will create the ISO file.

Once you've got the ISO file, you can try burning it with various programs to see which ones work with your recorder, which ones don't, etc.

Actually, Nero 6 does not allow for recording to .iso file type, it only allows recording to the .nrg file type.

Unless I'm missing something in Nero 6, which I doubght, as I've been using it for a while.

I'm still using Nero 5.5 (5.5.10.54), so I can't speak for version 6. But, version 5.5 will let you save an image file as either NRG (the default) or ISO. When the "Save Image File" dialog box opens, you can select the file type using the "Save as type:" selection.

I'm already "on the fence" about upgrading to Nero 6. If this feature has been dropped from version 6, I might have to stay with version 5.5 a while longer. I often create an ISO image first, then mount the image with Daemon Tools (virtual CD/DVD drive) to see exactly what the final product will look like before I burn it to disk.

It hasn't been dropped from 6. Aviationwiz is mistaken. He probably missed it because, just as in 5.5 as you noted, the selection of ISO format is done at the last step of the process as you are choosing the file to which to save the image. It isn't immediately obivous that you have a choice.

I swear saving it to .iso was not in there before...

Great! I'm glad to hear this can be done with Nero...I also thought that
it only created .nrg files.

Being able to mount an image with Daemon tools before burning it will
be very useful!

I don't know why I'm having so much trouble burning a data DVD, maybe
it is the cheap Optodisc DVD-R disks I'm using. My very first one with
DVD Decrypter worked at 4x, so I was psyched. My second with Nero
failed, so I loaded new Firmware, and burned at 2x and it worked, after
that I've burned about 6 coasters :(

Burning using CopytoDVD 2.2.10 also failed at both 4x and 2x.

I FINALLY was able to burn a good one with Nero 6, but only by making
the disk a "multisession" disk, and burning at 1x. I can see burning at a
slower rate if the media is flakey, but I'm clueless as to why it matters if
the disk is multisession or not!?

Thanks!
