hi, i have a question, can anyone help me please? The question is this, when techs say 're-image' a DELL pc with self-excuting image CDs, what do they exactly mean? plain installation of OS, for example, win2000?

thank you
p.s , this question may be silly as it probably has something to do with english skills, anyway any explanation will be appreciated :D

I can't say for sure because first time hearing the "re-image" term. But when you restart your pc with the installation CD from Dell (or any other big manufacturer) it will do a fresh installtion. Some will even format the HDD automatically and do a really fresh installtion (Instead of overwriting only the OS).

It could be said that the tech means a plain installtion of the OS. It would be good to do a backup of your important stuff before you begin this process.

HTH.
