Nothing I install shows up in the start menu. The last thing I tried was sonic mydvd and sure enough its not there? Can someone tell me why that would happen and how to fix it.

When you installed it was there a check box that asked if you wanted to create a start menu group? Sometimes I uncheck that one when I uncheck the quicklaunch and desktop shortcut options.

Maybe it's because of scrolling program icons. Try disabling it:

Right click Start, Properties, Customize, Advanced, untick Scroll Programs and confirm OK.

HTH.

The "personalized menu feature" might be hiding the icons; do you see a small down-arrow symbol at the bottom of the menu? If you see that, click on it to see everything in the start menu.
