alright guys. got a quick question for you lot. i got a dvd here that i want to back up but it has some sort of copy protection crap on it. i know theres programs out there that can take them off. just wondering wot they are, where there found and simple instructions on wot to do

The protection scheme employed by DVD-video systems is called "CSS." CDRLab's has a policy against discussions that involve potential "issues" concerning copyright infringement, however, I would be happy to refer you to www.doom9.net and www.vcdhelp.com. They both have excellent resources for what you're looking to do.

Not to get into this subject more, but I agree with Hoxlund. Dvdshrink is the way to go when backing up your DVD movies.
