Hi guys,
I have uninstalled Ad-Aware from my Win 2K SP4 system. It uninstalled successfully, but the Add/Remove Program list still says that it is installed and when I select and click uninstall,I get a error saying that "some uninstall.exe not found."
I know it is uninstalled. How to remove the dummy entry from the Add/Remove list?I know we can do that from registry. But I dont remember where.
Some help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

almost any registry utility will do that for you.

off-hand: www.macecraft.com , the makers of jv16 PowerTools. you can download the 30day trial.
you can also use the simpler program RegSupreme, it also cleans unwanted entries in the Add/Remove list AFAIR.

Thanks dodecahedron for the info.I remember that under some key there is a list where all the programs installed.I remember this because I accidently had deleted a key related to Yahoo Messenger, and it still worked,i.e., only the entry from the Add/Remove list was removed and the program remained and functioned normally. This was quite a time ago.I searched the registry in vain.

I will check out the site you gave the link to.

Thanks.

be sure to back up your registry before deleting any keys...

hehe...saw that key but didn't think that's the one...thought that's where the real uninstallation info is kept...
Han to the rescue once again..:D

Thanks a lot Han.It sure does work.I deleted the key that said Ad-Aware and the program is no longer listed as installed in the Add/Remove list in control panel.

Thanks.
