Anyone tried this stuff yet?

I bought the French Level 1 & 2 set earlier today.

The online Flash based demo was pretty neat.

I used to speak French from age 4-12, but we moved South and the schools didn't even offer it anymore. So I've lost it. I'm hoping to get it back.

It is the single most expensive software I have bought. $306 USD shipped. And that is with a 10% off coupon too. But its a totally different from any other course of its type. There is NO translation at all. Its total immersion.



I was just curious to see if anyone else has bought this stuff.

Even on Ebay, it's running about $250 USD for used packages.

It took me 4 months to get the nerve up to buy it.

My wife is going to freak when it arrives.

If the course goes well, I'll try my hand at Spanish (Latin America version).

BTW: there are more that 25 languages that they offer.

do they have courses also for the languages that were on the Rosetta Stone ?

I don't know why, but the movie A Fish Called Wanda is the first thing I thought of when I read your post about the wife.

So how do you like the program now that you've had it for a couple of weeks? I've tried Pimsleur ( audio) for Spanish but I'm at a sticking point and wonder if the pictures with audio might be more helpful.

I LOVE this format.

If I do every exercise, I will be fluent in speech & reading/writing.

I was happy just for the speech & reading.

It's pricey, but not that bad.

I know guy that's doing the Latin American Spanish, he loves it as well.

All I can say is, You get what you pay for. I've been at it for about a month now, and its pretty good.
