upgrading to windows xp

hi gang
i have windows 2000 pro in my computer.im considering upgrading to
windows xp but i heard the programs arent too good.is this true??is it
worth the extra 100.00 for the upgrade?thanks

Most applications that worked on 2000 should run under XP. At work, we only had a few programs that didn't work and most of these were legacy apps. Even then, you can usually get them to work by running them in compatibility mode.
If you're computer can handle it, you might just want to hold off and upgrade to Vista.

i have nero 6 and nero 6 isnt compatable with vista.how much is vista
anyway?do u reccommend windows xp?thanks

I don't think Nero 7 is Vista compatible yet either.
I'm not sure how much the Vista upgrade is going to be. Most likely it will be comparable to XP.
If you have an older computer, I'd stick with XP as Vista has some hefty hardware requirements.

You didn't mention why you're thinking about the upgrade. What's the advantage for you to go from 2000 to XP?
