I just got the new Sony DRU-500 and I'm not very impressed with the included software (Record NOW ). Record Now Max does not support it yet, and I have only made coasters with Nero.
Does anyone have this drive and if so what software are you using to buirn. Also does anyone know when all the current burning software will be updated for the Sony?

Nero 5.5.9.14 is not certified to work with the drive (but it identifies it.. go figure) and it has problems when burning to DVD+R discs that causes coasters. The next version of Nero should work with it fine.

I'm not sure what other software works with it. Give it some time. The drive is very new. With its popularity, every manufacturer is probably scrambling to support it.

You'd think the three-week (and counting) delay the West Coast Strike has caused would have helped...

Well, at least the software that shipped with it works with it though...

I can't wait till the RecordNow Max update (supporting the DRU-500A) is made available.
I usd that foir almost all my DVD burning needs with my prior first generation DVD burner.

Someone had said by the 25th or 28th of October there would be a drive update (I am not talking about upcoming version 4.5, but just a pxengine update to support new drives).
That hasn't happened.
