Help on trying ot burn a file

I currently have a 700 mb file that I want to burn onto cd.
But everything I tried to burn this file, it always stops at 17%. (Nero program)

I tried to make an image file of this file, same result, the program (CDRwin) stopped saying that there was an error on the I/O device and was unable to create the iso file.
I tried divxfix on the the video file, and it too stated the same problem as CDRwin.

I viewed the video, after 17 min (17:11) of play, the win media program can no longer play it, but when I skip to the run time of 17:20, the video runs fine again till the end.

Windows XP SP1 has not been installed yet? does anyone know if this will help resolve the problem?
Any other suggestions on how I can get this large video file on to cd correctly?

Thanks in advance

It sounds like the file may be corrupted. Normally, to burn a DivX AVI file, all you need to do is burn it as a ISO Mode 1 Joliet data disk in DAO. Nero should do this very handily without any need for an image file.

If you have identified the bad part, you may be able to edit it out, but then you would lose the portion that was removed. This is hardly an attractive option. However, if you can't replace the file any other way, this may be an unattractive option. Nandub can be used to edit portions of a DivX AVI file.

Your best bet obviously is to replace the file if you can.
