Hi,
I have a music CD with an offset in the index marks. When skipping to a new track, the first few milliseconds (just an epsilon, but annoying) are missing. If I extract the tracts using CDDAE, this starting bit is tagged on to the end of the previous track.

The nice thing about having a burner is that its probably possible to correct this in a copy- but I don't know how. The way I would try is:

• copy the entire disk to hard drive
• use some kind of editor to reposition the index marks. I think a fixed delta for all indizes would do the job.
• add CD-Text while I'm at it
• burn the result on quality media.

I would appreciate suggestions as to appropriate tools and procedure.

Try Exact Audio Copy.

Probably, the best is to use a ripping program with offset correction.
EAC offers that with samples accuracy and Feurio with sectors accuracy (588 samples).
Also it's easily done manually in Feurio track editor if you read the disc as a whole WAV. Then you only have to use "Set start/end position" (in Action menu) to displace the track beginning position.

Thank you for the tip. I've tried to use EAC, but (since its beta without official documentation) its a bit of touch and go as to what to do. Here's what I've done:

• "copy image and create cue sheet" does what it says for the entire CD
• I edited the "Index 01" positions of all tracks in the cue sheet (subtracted 20 sectors, modulo 75 took some getting used to) and added track titles.
• I tried writing with EAC (a CD-RW for test purposes) and ran into a "write error" twice. The 3rd time it worked. I'm not aware of doing anything different. The write option seems to be a bit touchy. (Configuration: LiteOn 48246S, Windows XP/SP1 with Adaptec ASPI 4.60).

The cue sheets look interesting. Is there more information on these somwhere? Normally I use Nero for burning CDs- does Nero support these cue sheets? If not, the only other possibility right now seems to be to use the option "Tools / Split waves by cue sheet" and then burn the individual tracks with Nero.

Please let me know if there are better options.

Thanks. I'll try that too. I read Han's post earlier today and went that route first...
