If you do not have a previous version of RecordNow get it here:

VCDEasy makes VCD's and slideshows:

How is that freeware? Unless, do you mean the UDF reader? RecordNowDX itself is not freeware, unless they have changed their policy, and the link on that page is for an update that requires that RecordNow already be installed.

what do you mean by "free" ?

isn't it an upgrade only?

Still no good, burninfool. First, that old HP version of RecordNow is legally licensed for use only with HP drives. Even you don’t care about the license restrictions, it won’t work with non-HP drives because it checks what you have installed to enforce the license. Second, the update from Easy Systems at www.easy.co.jp is legally available only for those who already have a properly licensed version of the normal RecordNow product, and it also checks to enforce the license. The HP bundled software doesn't qualify so it won't upgrade the HP version.

In summary, RecordNow is not freeware.

I appreciate your desire to contribute to the forums, burninfool, but please do your homework before posting. And don't post cracks or pirated software. We don't allow that on these forums. Please read the forum rules:

Burn@Once (www.burnatonce.com) is freeware and works very well. If you want, you can donate some $$ to the author but it's not required. I have it installed on all three of my boxes (WinME, Win2K and WinXP Pro) and it works fine on all of them. FYI here.

Yes, that's a little GUI for cdrdao/mkisofs. I played with version 0.91 a while back, but haven't tried the current version 0.95a. It certainly eases the burden of using cdrdao and related tools, but it isn't as full-featured and easy to use as the various commerical CD burning programs, in my opinion. Still, it is free and not a bad little program. And apparently there will be significant changes to some portions of the program for 0.96. Thanks for the tip.

Burn@Once - Thanks cfitz

Just downloaded Burn@Once and it works great! Other posts correct in that not as full featured as some commercial packages but IT"S NOT AS FULL PRICED either! FREE IS HARD TO BEAT!

With this little jewel I was able to fire up my Polaroid BurnMax 48. The bundled NTI software worked once then locked up machine everytime afterward.

BIG THANKS TO CFITZ for mentioning this.

Bart :D

Very gracious to thank debko.

A donation to the author would also be a nice expression of gratitude. :)
