1. Placed an order on Monday for some Taiyo 8x DVD+R discs. The discs were listed as being in stock. I paid for 2 day shipping.

2. Got a shipping notice last night, with a tracking number.

3. I now get an email from them telling me the discs are on backorder.

wtf..

Meritline is easily one of the shadiest merchants around.

ACCA/RIMA are currently selling TY T01/01 as the 4x DVD+R. I personally feel that the T01/01 is better than T02 with most current drives and FW.
I've even burned it at 16x with "readable" results.

I ordered from Meritline over a year ago and they were fine, but I know how you feel. Actually, I ordered some CD-R's recently, they arrived on time, no delays. However, upon testing a few of them in multiple recorders at multiple speeds, they showed very poor results. I asked their customer service department if I may send back the unused discs for a refund, they said it wouldn't be a problem. So, I sent them back and they should be in Meritline's possession tomorrow. I'll let you know how quickly they refund my credit card.

It makes you think twice about having Meritline ads on CDRLabs, doesn't it? :)

Yup it does. After the 8x DVD+R media fiasco, I thought about pulling them, but they refunded my money, etc. pretty quickly.

Rima has them in stock again and they're cheaper than Meritline. More TY 8x +R and -R goodness coming my way...

Ian,

If you don't mind me asking, how well did those TY disk burn? I'm trying to find something to that burns properly in my 812s. Unlike my NEC drive, the Lite-on is struggling..

Thanks

Just an update, Meritline did refund my credit card. So, all is well there. However, I will think twice before ordering from them again.

Sony is the king of slow credit card credits, they say it can take up to 90 days. Slow-pokes, longest I've ever heard of is 30 days.

I will second the meritline  sucks comment. I ordered verbatim 8x printable 50pk Jan 3rd, 2 day shipping. I paid, with shipping, $1.00 per disc which is way too much I realize now, and it's Jan 14th and they finally came. BIG dissappointment. Would NOT do business again.

I evaluated the seller through Yahoo. Gave them a 1 out of 5. They gave me a measly $5 store credit, still won't do business with them again.

Funny thing is I was recommended to this seller by a friend.
