When an organization is ineffectual, any leader of it is likely to be ineffectual as well.

And since I didn't have a chance to say it yesterday, I hope you had a good Yom Kippur. :)

thank you kindly :D

i'm not a religious person, nor "traditional" as we say here (don't oberserve the religious customs) so i don't fast.

what's special about Yom Kippur for Seculars, apart from it being a Holiday (no work, school or kindergarten etc., no stores etc.) is that nobody drives. i'm not sure if it's a law or just a custom, but nobody drives. oh, and also no TV!
as a result, it's a celebration for bicyclists! by the 100s everywhere :) kids especially but also adults (i remember i used to make really long trips on Yom Kippur when i was a teenager myself. either walking trips or on bicycle).

me (& the wife) being a father of a 2-year-old toddler, and living in a neighborhood too far (in walking terms) of any other park in the town, spent most of the day with the kid either in the garden enclosed by our building complex, or in the park adjacent right to it, or at home, surviving the 2 year old devil. difficult day.

Sounds cool. Cooler yet to me, because I'm a cyclist (I generally get 1,000 miles each summer, got about 1,500 this year).

I wish the U.S. still had more cycling in its culture.

P.S. They make some great bike trailers and carriers for 2-year-olds. You should check them out.
