Signature Problem

Ok. It says the signature lenght is 255 characters. Ok. So I tried this:

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

-- Roy,
Bladerunner

Says it's too long. I put it into Word for Windows 2k and pull up "Tools" "Word Count" and it says

Pages: 1
Words: 45
Characters (no spaces) : 206
Characters (with spaces) : 248
Paragraphs : 1
Lines : 7

... Ok, *why* is a 248 character w/ spaces too long when the max is 255? 248 < 255 , unless the forum uses some new space age math that reverses that? Someone help? Thanks!

Oh! Gonna have to go kick his butt, eh? As long as there isn't a Torak, then there won't be a major war breaking out. :D

your Word count is wrong.
i did it manually & on Word XP - all different results :x
go figure M$

this worked:
Code: Select all
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.

besides, IMO you can drop the word 'Bladerunner'.
anyone who doesn't know where that quote is taken from doesn't deserve the time of day.

First, opps! I need to reread the series again, it's been a few years. :D

Second, nope, it was something that Rutger Hauer added at the end that the director liked, as far as I can tell, and kept in.

Thanks! I'll mod it and try it again. And I'll go smack Word 2k. It has a few quirks that are nuts. Some words it has a problem with word format (IE, a - or no - ) that says that the - form is wrong and will, if you let it, change it to the non - form, and then promptly say the non - form is wrong *too* and if you tell it to change it, it'll change it to the - form again and, well, you get the idea. :D
