logged in, at the main forum index i clicked the 'View posts since last visit' link and got the following error.

not reproducible - clicked back and then the 'View posts since last visit' link again, all was fine.
this only happened once.

I thought I was the one that saw all the weird forum/website errors. I guess I'm not alone. :D

another similar (same?) error.

Yeah, someone emailed me about that this morning. That usually happens when we have too many people connected to the forum... which typically means we got attacked by some script kiddie or a worm.

I've been getting this message all morning if I click on CDRLabs.com Forum Index:
Code: Select all
phpBB : Critical Error

Error creating new session

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1114 The table 'sessions' is full

INSERT INTO sessions (session_id, session_user_id, session_start, session_time, session_ip, session_page, session_logged_in, session_admin) VALUES ('54d7c6435e3552186b395f4d663a49da', -1, 1132563257, 1132563257, 'd544a48a', 0, 0, 0)

Line : 177
File : sessions.php

Funny thing is, going to the "Forums" button (http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/ without "index.php") works just fine.

PostPosted: Sat Aug 12, 2006 10:23 am

same as in the first post: clicked the 'View posts since last visit' link.

this time it was reproducible, happened again and again every timei clicked that link.
and during this time i made the above posting! and still was getting that error when clicking that link.

We need to upgrade phpBB. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Does it happen all the time or only every once and awhile?

I noticed it after dodecahedron reported the problem.

Tonight there's been about a 1 in 3 chance of getting the javascript instead of an ad- both on the main page and the forum index. I think it's more frequent with Firefox (vers. 2.0) than with Opera (but don't nail me down on that).

Unfortunately I've been too busy the last couple of weeks to come by here for more than a couple of minutes 1 or 2x a day, so I can't say if that's representative.

It's gotta be an issue with the ad chaining. Instead of calling that as a javascript file, its displaying it as HTML.

If you see it again, right click on the white box and choose properties. It should tell you the name of the file.

The right-click didn't work- it was in a separate frame. However Firefox apparently (now?) lets you open a frame in a new tab/window and I got this information:

name: http://phpads.cdrlabs.com/casale_leaderboard.js
contents:
Code: Select all
var dz=document;
dz.writeln("<script type=\"text/javascript\"><!--");
dz.writeln("var casaleD=new Date();var casaleR=(casaleD.getTime()%8673806982)+Math.random();");
dz.writeln("var casaleUU=escape(window.location.href); var casaleHost='.casalemedia.com/';");
dz.writeln("var casaleWH='\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" ';");
dz.writeln("var casaleFR='marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"';");
dz.writeln("casaleFR +=' allowtransparency=\"true\">';");
dz.writeln("document.write('<ifr'+'ame src=\"http://as'+casaleHost+'s?s=57637&u='+casaleUU);");
dz.writeln("document.write('&f=2&id='+casaleR+casaleWH+casaleFR+'<a hr'+'ef=\"http://c');");
dz.writeln("document.write(casaleHost+'c?s=57637&f=2&id='+casaleR+'\" target=\"_blank\">');");
dz.writeln("document.write('<i'+'mg src=\"http://as'+casaleHost+'s?s=57637&u='+casaleUU);");
dz.writeln("document.write('&f=2&id='+casaleR+'&if=0'+casaleWH+'border=\"0\"><\\/a>');");
dz.writeln("document.write('<\\/ifr'+'ame>');");
dz.writeln("//--><\/script><noscript>");
dz.writeln("<iframe src=\"http://as.casalemedia.com/s?s=57637&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcdrlabs.com&f=2&id=1\"");
dz.writeln("width=\"728\" height=\"90\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" ");
dz.writeln("allowtransparency=\"true\">");
dz.writeln("<a href=\"http://c.casalemedia.com/c?s=57637&f=2&id=0\" target=\"_blank\"><img");
dz.writeln("src=\"http://as.casalemedia.com/s?s=57637&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcdrlabs.com&f=2&id=0&if=0\" ");
dz.writeln("width=\"728\" height=\"90\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\"></a></iframe></noscript>");

Does that help? In case it matters, I'm pretty restrictive regarding cookies, but apparently those from phpads.cdrlabs.com get through.

Yeah, that helps. I took a look at this last night and essentially, Valueclick is passing the wrong ad size and type (javascript). I'm going to have to contact them this week and tell them to fix it.

Thanks again guys.

Ian, you will get the sessions error alot more if you run a HEAP sessions table. If you switch to a MyISAM table, you will get less session errors.

There are also phpbbmods that can rebuild the search index, that might fix the second problem.

If you have any questions, you can PM me, I could prob help you out.

Thanks for the offer ccb056 but I think we fixed it as we haven't seen the error in a few months.

The problem now is with one of the ad companies. I'm still waiting for their tech support people to get back to me.
