Thanks cfitz!
It kinda felt wierd typing it up last night, like I was rusty doing it. At first I forgot to add the pics in. Kind of slow too, since there will be no weekly ad for CompUSA this week.

I was also surprised to finally see a serial ATA drive advertised at Best Buy. Pretty expensive for the new technology.

Yeah, the deals seem to be pretty scarce this week at all the big box retailers.

Great to have you back, BuddhaTB!

I went to BB and all the Buslinks were non-Lite-on's.

Any ideal who makes the card? I followed the link and it does not mention anything about a serial card-is it included, or do you get it from Seagate? From what I was reading last week, all serial ATA interfaces are not created equal...I think it was at Tom's Hardware, not sure off hand.

I have no idea who makes the card. This deal is only valid in-store, so you must go to your local Best Buy to receive the deal. I just saw it in the weekly ad and Best Buy did not show a picture of it. I do know the cost was $49.99 and there was a $50 mail-in bundle rebate when you purchased the Seagate hard drive and the serial ATA card. I hope this helps.

You can view the Best Buy ad page with the Serial ATA Drive here

Dual DVD burner owners beware that there is a screw up with the Vebatim
DVD media BB rebates (the mfr ones have different offer numbers so they are OK):

I bought both the -R and +R AFTER checking with a customer service CSR that I could apply for both.
It now turns out that the BestBuy offer numbers are the same!
They screwed up...
I will have to waste my time going to the store to get instant credit for their mistake, since they will only pay for one rebate, since there is only one promotion number.

Also note that the online rebate forms are not valid for in-store purchases!

Luckily I have to go that way anyway to see my niece who was just born Saturday morning :)

Also note that the +R are actually $5 less than the -R.
They are $32.99 and not the $37.99 that is posted above, before rebate.
