Thats right. For only $1.99, you can get a 5 pack of Memorex 12x CD-RW Media. There are not any rebates on this so you walk out of the store paying only $1.99 plus Tax.

In MN at 6.5% Tax the total cost was $2.12 for one 5 pack.

Memorex CD-RW disc suck! I wouldn't take them if they were giving them away. I'd rather use my trusted TY CD-R.

1. I've only had good luck with Memorex CD-RW.
2. TY only makes -R as far as I know. Not -RW. We are talking -RW.

Doesn't matter. I would rather use a TY CD-R than use a Memorex CD-RW disc. Much cheaper and higher quality IMO.

But for those of you who have experienced good results with Memorex CD-RW disc, then a good deal for you.

As long as we are piling on, here is my Memorex High Speed 12x CD-RW after about 2, maybe 3 erasure cycles:

Shortly afterward it stopped working altogether - can't be read, can't be erased, can't be written. Made by Infodisc - what utter junk.

This looks like a desperate pricing attempt. I'm tempted ;)

If you're a gambling man, it might be worth risking throwing away $1.99. Just be careful that you don't also throw away valuable data by trusting it to these discs without also having backup copies stored on other, more reliable media. Losing your valuable data would be the real shame, not losing $1.99.

Yea, I'd most likely use them for throwaway data or testing purposes. Thanks for the warning, though.

I only use CD-RW's for music CD's for my car. Then when I get a mix of tunes I like, then I burn a CD-R.

I had a Sony CD-RW die on me last year and I lost a bunch of Mp3's - I'll never trust them again for storing data for a long time. Just too iffy for me.

BillyG: Do you remember the manufacturer of the Sony CD-RW disc that crapped out on you?
