Supposedly they're having a big storewide clearance event.. dunno whats up with that. Otherwise the sale isn't very good as far as CD/DVD stuff goes.

Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM hard drive - $79.94 after $10IR and $30MIR
Optimum 48x CD-R 100 Pack - $4.94 after $18IR and $15 MIR
Buslink 52/24/52 CD-RW - $49.94 after $10IR and $20MIR

Anyone have a coupon? I have my eyes on that hard drive.

Buy.com is offering Western Digitals WD1200JB, Western Digital Caviar WD1200JB Special Edition - Hard drive - 120 GB - standard - 3.5" - ATA-100 - 7200 rpm - 8 MB
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?s ... 01&loc=101
Our Price: $148.99

List Price: $499.00
You Save: $350.01
Bought the WD1200JB for that price, no tax, free delivery, no MIR. Thought it was a deal. Although BestBuy post offers it for approx. $20. less. As I already bought one from BestBuy, one to a customer, I chose this offer. Liked the drive so much, I bought the second drive to update older, noisy small drives. The WD is whisper quiet, fast, and 8Mb cache. :D

BULL-SH*T

What kind of a rip off place is that. Making it look like a GREAT deal when it's only a good deal.

Okay, talk about bad timing.....I just picked-up a Maxtor DiamondMax 9 80 GB 8MB Cache at Staples yesterday (4-3) for $119... Anyone know what their 14-day price guarantee involves??? Will they just give me the $10 instant savings, or will they let me use the $30 rebate?? I suppose I could just buy o new one and return it with the old receipt, but I would prefer to just get an adjustment... Anyone have experience to share??

Jason

your talking to the right person, i work there, what that entails is you find it cheaper and we will give you a 110% money back, but the competitor can't beat our price with a mail in rebate, has to be sale price or regular price

and if you pay with credit card, we credit back your card, if you pay with check i think we give you in store credit, or money back

but i could have swore its 30 days, maybe im wrong, im sure it says the policy in our website

I bought a Maxtor 120 GB with 8mb cache and 7200 rpm for 95 after $50 rebate. www.slickdeals.net for coupon and rebate. would have to buy it online for coupon. It ended up costing me 105 after tax and rebate. office depot

Same as ever - employee discount = not applicable to the rest of us.

I can't believe you fell for this.

look i will say this one more time, if i get a discount, that doesn't mean you can't

you just have to find someone, or maybe a friend or relative that works there, and have them hook you up

A few problems.

1. Not many cities have Staples.
2. For the few of us who live in a city with a Staples, none of us would have a friend or relative working there. The chances are very unlikely.

FYI I picked up a 1800JB for $165 shipped from Dell. That isn't too great of a deal. I've seen that drive going for $100 after rebates.

HOT SCANNER DEAL!

@hoxlund: Would your manager approve of you using your employee discount to purchase an item that wasn't for your direct use? Is that practice somewhat deceptive if not forbidden?

Now for the main subject:
Sitting beside me is the Memorex MEM48U Scanner (600 x 1200dpi, 48bit) from Staples for $15 AMIR ($60). I don't pretend that it is good as a Canon 3000F Scanner. However, it's good enough for $15 and I'm keeping it.

who said i buy stuff for people?

didn't think so

i just get to the idea, that if you know someone else that works at staples, like family members

also we don't have a formal discount, only 12% once a quarter, so i like to live it up while i can
