Problem is, you can't order when it isn't in stock via the web. As soon as it gets in Newegg will crank the price back up.

Yea the price went up to $249US.
I would never buy anything from newegg(bad business practices),I trust www.googlegear.com or www.avlogic.com.

Not sure if mwave.com has it in stock, but it's listing for $219 USD.

Newegg is a terrific online retailer. I suggest you head to www.resellerratings.com and check them out. I'd bet you can probably call them and order it at that price... otherwise its standard web strategy to list a lower price to drive traffic to the site. Not unethical, just an opportunity to cross-sell you while you're there.

Besides it's a hell of a lot better to not let you pre-order than take your money when it won't be in stock for a month like many other retailers do.

I'm glad you and other people have had good experiences with newegg because I ordered a drive from them last year and not only did it take 3 weeks to arrive(same state) it was the wrong model. If an item is to be preordered then it should be noted on their website instead of stating"In Stock".
I've had excellent dealings with googlegear.com and avlogic.com(every order on-time and what I ordered) and they are "c/net" and "bizrate" certified stores.

Noble Computer has 2 very bad ratings on resellerratings.com, so beware.

Remember, if a deal sounds too good to be true...
