I'm in AZ so I have to pay sales tax... but still a great deal.

Seems to be running $429 retail, Sony has it listed for $399 online.

No one be a meathead and send them an email or call to confirm the price, you might mess things up for everyone if there is an error. If they are wrong, they'll have to contact you, they can't just charge you for the new price.

That is a GREAT price-- it has to be a pricing error, that's more in line with the price for the internal drive.

Anyone who orders it, print EVERYTHING out.. and expect not to get it. ;)

I did.

FYI Sony had the external priced that low a few weeks ago. They bumped it back up. They might have passed that MSRP onto their resellers for a short period of time.

How can you tell its out of stock if I can still add it to my shopping cart and head to the checkout area?

Most merchants (aside from Newegg and a couple others) allow you to order out of stock items, buddha, not a new concept. Most merchants prefer this method because it allows them to minimize their inventory carrying costs and preorders minimize efforts in estimating demand.

When I purchased it, the stock notifcation said in stock, same day shipping, now it says call for availability which typically means they are out of stock.

No sane merchant wants a customer to call if they have the product in stock. That interrupts the customer's purchase process and encourages them to look for alternatives. You want them to be able to transact at the instant, not add more steps.
