Iomega website has an 48x24x48 external cdrw for just US 69.95. I heard that this drive is just a Liteon IDE in USB casing, but still I think it is a pretty good deal.

Office Depot also has the same drive for about 100 bucks and a 30 dollars mail-in rebate (70 bucks after rebate). I wonder if I can print out the Iomega advertisement and bring it to the store to get the drive for 70 bucks without rebate.

Model -c is not a Liteon!

I just bought the Iomega 48x external from Office Depot. My model is CDRW55292 Ext3-C. From the look of the front and the tray, I am pretty sure it is not a Liteon. Although it has only one button, the read mechanism and the open, close mechanism lead me to think that it is a BTC. I don't think it is a Plextor since it has white tray.

Iomega makes only two models for this drive, B and C. So B must be Liteon. Too bad they don't put the model on the box.
