UPC Code?

Hey, the Lite-On box has a UPC code and an EAN code right by one another. They look very similar; should I send both for the rebate?

I only sent in the UPC, since that is what it asked for. But I would be interested to hear anyone else's opinion!

I'm actually a bit bummed atm. Got my liteon, and it's not quite living up to my expectations. I'm testing the errors with KProbe and I'm even getting some C2 errors and a fair amount of C1 ranging 10-30000. I tested the cd's I burned on my Benq drive and they all lie around 1000 C1. Of course this is just preliminary testing so gotte look into it a bit more. It's great to be able to test C1/C2 though and the quality of the burns from my Benq was a very pleasent surprise. BTW I'm using Fuji TY discs, also tried a couple of CMC discs from different brands.

Get back to us on that, MSX. Mine's upstairs now, but I'm not putting it in until I hear something more positive from you.

I got mine today, too! :D

I haven't gotten to do any testing yet; I'll let you know how it works!

BTW, mine came with QS08, too. :D

OK, here are some results from my LTR-52327S. I think you will find these results encouraging, CowboySlim.

All discs were scanned with KProbe 1.1.23 on my LTR-48125W (FW VS0D) at 40x. All discs were burned at the maximum speed Smart-Burn would allow. All discs (except the Imation 16x) were burned using the "Create Data CD" function in CDSpeed 2.02. The Imation disc was burned in Nero 5.5.10.50. and has about 76 minutes of data on it.

Note: At the very end of the burn, Smart-Burn dropped the speed to about 35x on the SpinX and Philips media.

Discs burned with firmware QS08:

TDK (Ritek) 40x burned at 52x:
C1 Max= 31, Total= 7446, Average= 1.828
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0.000

SpinX (CMC) 40x burned at 52x:
C1 Max= 217, Total= 120108, Average= 30.102
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0.000

Philips (CMC) 48x burned at 52x:
C1 Max= 28, Total= 21469, Average= 5.339
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0

Discs burned with firmware QS09:

TDK (Ritek) 40x burned at 52x:
C1 Max= 19, Total= 5974, Average= 1.466
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0

SpinX (CMC) 40x burned at 52x:
C1 Max= 26, Total= 7209, Average= 1.773
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0

Philips (CMC) 48x burned at 52x:
C1 Max= 36, Total= 37542, Average= 9.407
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0

Imation (CMC) 16x burned at 24x:
C1 Max= 31, Total= 13434, Average= 3.441
C2 Max= 0, Total= 0, Average= 0
(This is an incredibly good result for this media.)

MSX: Are you running the KProbe scan on your 52327S? If so, you might want to read this post.

Been looking on rebatesatus each day for several days now, and nothing shows up.
I mailed my rebate about 4 weeks ago; would have been 5 1/2 weeks ago, if I had done it before I went on vacation, since I got mine within a few days of ordering.
I'll call them up...

I do know they are VERY slow, since a Canon printer rebate submitted early this year took a long time to go through, although it may have shown up quicker than the LiteOn rebates, which still don't show up for me...

I don't see either my Avery rebate or my Lite-On rebate yet on those web sites. I sent mine out about two weeks ago, give or take a couple of days. I know that I sent them out before the deadline. I guess that they're just slow.

If it has only been two weeks, give it some time (another week or so), then check again.

I sent my LiteOn ones about a month ago; I'll contact them soon, to see if i get any info. The last time I sent a request through rebatestatus.com, they never replied...

Looking a lot better for the three rebates:

- $10: The Avery has been showing online for a while.
- $30: As of a day or so ago, the LiteOn mfr rebate is showing up.
- $20: I got the LiteOn BB $20 MIR check today.

Thanks for the update, VEFF! Things are looking a little better for me, too.

My Avery rebate isn't online yet.

My $30 Lite-On rebate is showing up online. :D

I haven't gotten my BB rebate yet; I should probably check on it by giving them a call.

No problem CDRecorder.
My BB rebate took a little over a month.
I sent my rebate submissions out later than I wanted to (almost 10 days after getting the burner, due to a vacation).

VEFF,

Looks like the Bestbuy rebate is showing up faster than the other 2. I should be seeing my Bestbuy rebate soon. 8)

Yes, it seems that way.

I'm glad to hear that your Avery rebate arrived, VEFF! My Avery rebate just showed up online. :D

Thanks CDRecorder!

Unfortunately the group (CPG) handling the LiteOn rebate is notoriously slow, but as long as I get the check within a relatively reasonable timeframe I won't mind too much...

Even if you don't get the $30 MIR, $40 for an LTR-52327S and a label kit ain't bad. Of course, the drive can be had on newegg for $42.
