I believe they are TY if they say made in Japan. Their 100 disc spindle are Prodisc, which they just released, because they say made in Taiwan.

I realize that, but I can't see if they say made in Japan. Thats why I was wondering if someone could tell me if they were.

Unfortunately, you really have to see the actual spindle to tell whether they're made in Japan or not. The photos on the web sites may not be exactly what you're getting, so they're not a reliable indicator even if you can see where the discs in the photo are made.

Two points:

1. The status at that website is not always accurate. For example, I have several old rebates listed there, and some say "Payment Sent" whereas others say "Check Cashed".

2. Assuming your status is accurate, you might want to call them or do the online chat service. "New" means they haven't received your materials by mail. I have had this happen on 2 out of the 4 rebates I sent in to Fuji. They seem to be "losing" a lot of mail. I have never had a problem with resubmissions, though.

That's exactly what I did along with an Email. They told me to wait until the end of the month.

These are the 100 packs to be looking for at the store, two 50 packs shrinkwrapped together. The older TY-made discs came in a cakebox like this with a spin-on cap, the newer ones didnt. DONT buy the ones in the tall 100 disc cakebox.

Its a shame Fuji is going down the same cheap path that Sony and TDK did by dumping TY and making thier CD-R's in Taiwan.

Is there a Fujifilm customer service e-mail address people could write to and complain? Maybe if we could get thousands of CD-R fans to write in and bitch about the poor quality. Maybe an online petition?

Tried complaining, never got a reply...

I complained to Fuji about the fact that their new discs aren't TY, and their reply was just a form letter that said that they test all of their discs to make sure that they are good quality. You can find a contact link for Fuji at http://www.fujifilmmediasource.com.

Check your mail ...

The problem is that the average shopper only responds to the price signal on CD-Rs. Buyers who will gladly pay a bit more for TY-level quality are too few in number, though they may be in the majority here at CDRLabs. Just as non-parity RAM essentially drove parity RAM out of the marketplace, crappy CD-Rs will force the better ones out. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't look good.

What I have to say is off topic but it's regaring Bestbuy and some Fuji CDR's that I bought awhile back. Almost a month ago I placed an order for 100 pack of Fuji's CDR. I placed my order online and I figured I would do a local pickup at a nearby store. Unfortunately I recieved an email telling me that none of the local stores had it in stock. There's no option on their webpage to change it from local pickup to ship it to my home so you have to call them up change the delivery method. So I called a customer rep and asked that my order be shipped to. Big mistake! I found out with orders less $50 they ship it out USPS instead of UPS. After 7 days no package, I called Bestbuy and the rep I spoke to told me I have to wait 10 days before I could cancel. I called after 10 days and than I was told I have to wait 21 days. After waiting 21 working days including Saturdays since the USPS delivers on Saturdays, still no package and so I call Bestbuy to cancel my order. I called and told the rep that I didn't recieve my package and that I would like to cancel my order, they told me no problem. After 25 days there's no credit charge on my credit card and so I called them again. I told them since they didn't credit my account within 25 days (my grace period on the credit card) that they needed to also pay the interest I had pay. I asked to speak to supervisor but I was told the person wasn't available and that someone would call me with in 4 days regarding about the interest. No call back and so I call again asking for a credit on my credit card. They told me they would credit my account with in a couple of days and that a supervisor would call me with in 48 hours. Tomorrow would be 48 hours but I recieved an email today from them stating that it's too late to cancel my online order and that I could return the product to their local store for a refund. Hrmm, I guess I could do that if I recieved my package from them.. *Sigh* I have to wait for the supervisor and if she or he doesn't call than I have to call again and explain to them that I never recieved my package and since it was sent via USPS they're not able to track it. They charged my credit card back on October 17th and still no package and no credit on my credit card. What a screwed up Company! :x

You need to take this up with your credit card company. If you dispute it, I don't think interest is charged.

Hopefully it will switch status' soon. I noticed my latest rebate from them for the DVD+R's go to Texas, so maybe they switched over from New Jersey and that is why there is such a backlog?

That could be. I forget where I sent my Fuji rebates (which were for CD-Rs). The rebates on my latest Fuji DVD+Rs (from OM last week) weren't from Fuji.
