Best Buy - Norcent drives with Smart-Burn are LITE-ON's!

I was at my local Best Buy tonight - I opened one of the Norcent 52x32x52 boxes that had "Smart Burn" in the back of the store (where no store clerks were around) just to see what it was, and it looked just like a Lite-On LTR-52327S right down to the faceplate!

The ones that mention "Seamless Link" are proably Acer/Benq and should be avoided.

Bought it immediatly, but havent installed it in my main rig to see how well it worked. The only bummer is you have to fill out two separate rebates, and it comes with Nero Express (is this a basic less featured version of nero? rats!!)

$62.99 (full price) - 30.00 (rebate 1) - 13.00 (rebate 2) = $19.99

Nice find!

Actually, it doesn't surprise me that it comes with Nero Express. My retail LTR-52327S drive came with Nero Express, too.

I'm really glad to hear that! I'm sure that it is extremely frustrating to be waiting for those rebates for such a long time.

Thanks CDRecorder & Cowboyslim!

I had to make a number of phone calls to Buslink, and thank goodness was able to talk to some nice employees there, who admitted that their rebate processor was dropping the ball.

I'm happy that I got the 3 rebates, but I don't know if I can continue to buy Buslink products with rebates, especially since their rebate processor just don't do the job.

How???

UALOneKPlus,

Please tell me how you managed to speak to an actual human being at Buslink? I have a $30 rebate with them that's been pending since the end of February. I only get the answering machine when I call.

I posted this in the DVD section of the forum, but it relates here too. Norcent's new 4x DVD+R/RW is a Lite-On LDW-401S.

Anyone had problems with Norcent's rebates?

I've only bought one other Norcent product (a Acer-made 48x burner last november at Best Buy) and my rebate check arrived in about a two months, proably late due to the chrismas rush.

I have also noticed that neither my local CompUSA and Best Buy hasnt carried any new Buslink products in awhile.

I did 2 of them during the past year. Their rebate customer service is very bad. I got both checks eventually, though.

Follow-up

UALOneKPlus, thanks for that link. I got my rebate check about a week after sending in a fax to BusLink. Thanks to BusLink too for fixing this problem.
