Will those Fuji DVD+Rs and DVD+RWs work at 4x in the LDW-411S? I don't see any speed markings on the package in the advertisement.

The DVD+R's will be 2.4x and the DVD+RW's will also be 2.4x unless they are marked as 4x, best way is to go into store and check. I do not believe that Fuji has 4x DVD+RW media yet, but I have seen 4x DVD+R, but only in 100 (2x50) spindles.

Actually, I just picked up a 5 pack of 4X DVD+RWs from Fuji, so they do exist. The package looks almost identical to the older 2.4X version; one has to check carefully.

Cool, thanks for the info. Can you please post the ADIP. If I'm correct, the 4x label is right over where the old DVD-Video label was, no?

The label "up to 4X write speed" is on the cover insert where it used to say "for Data and Video". Incidentally, the big colored stripes that said "D and V" under the text are gone. The background of the cover art is now all navy blue.

The old 2.4X Fujifilm DVD+RWs I have have a mirrored label surface and say "made in Taiwan" on the disc itself. The new ones have a frosted surface and say "made in Japan" on the disc surface - despite the package insert actually saying "Made in Taiwan". (but otherwise have the same label graphics.)

ADIP info on the new 4X discs:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the older 2.4X Fuji disc for reference:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc Type : [DVD+RW]
Manufacturer ID : [RICOHJPN]

My OfficeMax only had the Prodisc Fujis, so I bought some to test out. Interestingly, my 52327S limits them to 48x. I've never seen a disc limited to 48x before; usually, its 52x or 40x.

Of course, I also got the DVD+Rs. :) I can't say who made them, yet, because my 411S is still in the mail.

Thanks for that info regarding the Fuji Prodisc media. I almost bought some. I already have Memorex 48x and 52x Prodisc media, which I have not used in my Liteon 52327S since I have another spindle of Fuji TY media.

You're welcome. I already burned two of the Fuji Prodiscs at 48x (one in a 52327S and one in a 48125W. The one burned in the 52327S was pretty good quality (though not as good as TY); the one in the 48125W wasn't so good (C1 Max: 201, C1 Avg: 17.8, and 18 C2 errors when scanned in my 52327S). I don't know yet if that was because of the disc or the drive.

I stopped into a Office Max today and they were out of the 50 PK Fuji's for 9.99. I went ot Best Buy and they price matched it. Their sale price was $12.99. They also had the TY packs. To top it off, the $8 MIR can also be applied to this price.

It all depends on who you talk to. As far as the rebate being fulfilled, that's done by a separate entity. Things like this with only a few dollars difference in retail price can be price matched by the cashiers up front. They don't even know it has a rebate until after the transaction is over and it prints out. Their registers show the regular price to be $12.99 when it is scanned and it doesn't indicate it is on sale.

You might want to buy it and pay for it at the cashier, then go to customer service to get a price match. You will have already gotten the rebate form.

I went to BB today with a sales flyer from Office Max.
They price matched the $9.99 price plus the rebate printed out too, so I get 50 CD-R s for $1.99 :)
I bought one spindle for me and picked one for up for my mom too
Funny thing though, Office Max's 50 packs are made in Taiwan, BB still has Japanese (TY). Guess in the near future, it will be hard to find TY made Fuji CD-Rs.
