Plain box - Rebadged BTC DRW1008IM

hmmmm got the cyberdrive last week, it burns very nice and fast. No probs yet with it, burned 9 of them 4x DVD+R Ricohs that were on sale at office max last week (as Imation, subs for the Arita 2.4x) at 8x with no probs with speed or quality whatsoever.

But damnnn, that optorite is temptingggg!

Then again, maybe even the Benq, so I can get book type setting as an option... *L* jeeZ, too many good drives here with all different qualities to 'em for cheaP.

Optorite has HD-BURN(1.4GB on a CD-R).
BenQ and Cyberdrive were given high marks for write quality by www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/DriveComparisons/Home.aspx
I have a Optorite DD0203 and a BenQ DW800A and I recommend the BenQ for making DVD-Video.
Whatever you buy you can't go wrong for $70 after MIR.

You're kidding, right?

No, not kidding. You weren't the only person that jumped on me about that.

Hey, no disrespect intended, I just had to call you on that one. I just needed more information on why you drew that conclusion. CDRLabs. CDFreaks, and CDRinfo are by far the best websites of their kind on the internet. Keep up the good work Ian!

Oh, by the way, I think the Kyphermedia boxes run the same as the I/O Magic boxes. (I returned a benQ a month ago) Shrink wrapped= Cyberdrive, Plain box= BenQ.

Ian, the link on the front page points to the DD0401 review, not this thread

At least it points to the best drive OM has on sale right now!

I love my 401...

It was found that the Kyphermdia boxes that say made in Malaysia are Benq and made in China are Cyberdrive.

And if you bring in an empty inkjet cartridge to most OfficeMax for recycling, they will give you a free ream of thier Recycled Copy Paper. (works fine in inkjet printers for text documents and basic printouts). Nice deal!
