Starting tomorrow they have 2 - 50 packs of either + or - Memorex spindles for $79.97.

The - will probably be CMC.

You can try and use either of these $20 off $75 coupons to make it an even better deal: 32552335 or 91408733.

The +Rs have been reported in the past as RICOHJPNR01.

Thank you for the coupons. I just ordered some of the media and the website credited me the $20. OfficeDepot also has free shipping on orders over $50 so I was able to take advantage of that. The total is $59.97 plus tax for 100 DVD-R or DVD+R discs. I let everyone know the manufacturer of the discs they ship me.

Do you know what speed they are? 1X and 2X aren't worth the drive

Likely 4x, but I'll let everyone know when they arrive Tuesday. I think you have to order online for the additional discount.

I just tried to order and it appears they are already out of stock and no longer accepting orders for this offer. Anyone else getting same results?

I got two 50 pack spindles this morning. They are ProdiskS03. Definitely the most terrible media I have ever used. Burned one with Pioneer 107Dat a speed of 4X. Put it in my Lite-On 4816H combo drive. Failed the CD Speed test. Ran Kprobe on the same Lite-On drive. With good media the max PI on that drive is usually less than 200. I ran it up to the first 25% and when I saw max PI of 1400, I got disgusted and stopped it.

kraz: Stock at www.officedepot.com is completely dependent on what zip code you put in. Available stock at 90210 could be a lot greater than, say, something at 54867 (I made that one up BTW). Unfortunately, it seems that the OD at your zip is out. The deal lasts until Thursday, wait it out and see if some more stock comes in within the next few days.

Update:

A few posts ago I reported this media was very bad. i was using NIL's 1.10 hacked fw on my Pioneer 107D. The results were terrible at 4X. Also bad but not as bad burning @ 6X and 8X. NIL says if you use the media's rated speed, it doesn't make any difference if you use the official fw or his hacked fw. Well, I don't think that's true. I switched back to the official 1.10 fw and I'm getting a lot better results.

To sum it up, this media is not bad. I think NIL's hacked fw is very buggy.

yea, I picked up -R and mine are also Prodisc. If they suck as bad as indicated above, guess I'll be returning them. According to these reports

http://tinyurl.com/2lorx

the discs are not all that bad. So, what do you guys think...keep 'em or return them?

There're more user comments here:

I ended up keeping mine after I changed back to the official fw on my burner.

I ordered some early Sunday. They are due to arrive tomorrow.
Hopefully the very late winter snow storm predicted to start tomorrow afternoon won't affect the delivery.

Received my Memorex DVD-R today from OfficeDepot. They are Prodisc 4x. Haven't had a chance to burn anything with them yet.
