Posted: Sun Mar 28, 2004 10:14 pmI picked up some of the Sony discs today. The DVD-R discs were made in Taiwan. I haven't opened em up yet, so I don't know who the manufacturer is yet.

I'm going to guess that those Tawain Sony Dvd-rs are Prodiscs. My second guess would be Cmc. I bet Prodisc. When you open them please tell me what they were to see if I'm right.

Posted: Mon Mar 29, 2004 6:35 pmI picked up a pack of DVD+R yesterday and backed up two DVD movies. So far no problems, I'm new to all this. The DVD+R are purple on the bottom and they also say made in Taiwan. Hope this helps.
Posted: Mon Apr 05, 2004 2:33 pmI have burnt 2 packs of these in my 106 without a hitch. I bought the dvd-r and they are made in japan and identify as SONY04D1. Who actually makes these?They had made in taiwan ones also but I bought the japanese ones. Going to get another pack right now. Anyone know if the error rates are good on these? I would love to burn them at 8X on my 107 knowing they are still a good burn quality.
Posted: Thu Apr 08, 2004 5:09 pmMy Sony -R discs are made in Japan have no shrink wrap on them and, identify as TYG01. Got lucky I guess. Staples sent me a $10 off $10 or more, bought 2 packs of 10, so at 50 cents a disc I couldn't pass.
