its not that good of deal, it makes it $0.85 per disc

or if you buy ritek g04 (8x in pioneer dvr-107d), makes it $0.69 per disc:

The whole thing is the quality, and being able to write at 8x in other drives. I'm thinking about it, but it seems that I'd get Ritek G05's and not TY G02's.

If those bulk packs are like the ones I bought last week, they're Ritek, not Taiyo. Take note that they only mention Taiyo for the jewel case ones.

I've heard the Ritek G05's take a long time to burn for some reason... I have a friend who tried to burn one on his Pioneer DVR-107 (with Hacked firmware) and it took about 15min for some reason. I'm assuming it was a bad disc... which wouldn't surprise me because it's Ritek... but still...

I'd like to get my hands on some of this media myself to take a look at it! (keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer! )

Wasn't that a favorite saying of JR Ewing on the old Dallas series?

You'd be surprised. Around for Dallas, and then some!

Ritek G05 media might not last for very long... I've heard some very interesting "rumours" from some very reliable sources, but I'm waiting for a little more confirmation on them. I still don't think it'll burn at 8x in most drives without a hacked firmware either.

Ritek G05 burned on a Sony DRU-700A:

I would use the word Craptacular personally... but the fact is, that's just K-Probe, and it doesn't really mean anything. The media might be fine, or much worse then that! How does it fair in a transfer rate test is more interesting to me. Or better yet, a transfer rate test on the PX-712a. That Plextor is so media intolerant when it comes to bad burns, it might make useful testing drive yet!

I've had mixed results with the media. Some drives just don't know how to handle them.

Pioneer based drives will burn them at 8x without a hacked firmware. From what I've seen, the writing quality is also pretty good.
