Please, get the CompUSA ad, go to Staples, get your Sony +or - 25pk, price match, and save another $3, $16.99 plus tax. Pretty damn sweet.

Staples online says they carry the +RW 10pk, but I don't remember seeing them in the store. If they do, Price match again to CompUSA ad and bring them down to $14.69 + tax, a more acceptable price.

This could be a useful post.

Thank you for posting that. That was a very useful post. Saving another $3 is a very good thing.

What is Staples pricematch policy? How did you get another $3 off?

$16.99 for a 25 pack of Sony 4x Dvd+R and Dvd-R is really good.

It turns out I was incorrect it's ony $2 dollars off. Staples.com lists the retail at $49.99, and the in-store retail is $39.99.so recap, take your compUSA ad into Staples and, Pricematch the $19.99 discs, then leave the store with a 25pk of Sony DVD's for $17.99+tax.

On another not, ever notice how CompUSA will list a product by what it is ie. (200gb hard drive), how much it is ($129.00) but not what brand it is. I know they do it to hurt your pricematch ability. Fortunately my Staples will accept an on-line printout of the product according to it's product #, I 've tried it with Best Buy, and they won't bite. I hope all of their stores have the same practice. Kudos to Staples!

I don't see the big deal about price-matching, why not just go to the store that has it on sale and buy it there?

Staples = 3/4 of a mile from my house
CompUSA = 12 miles ..................
Gas is expensive, at least until around Sept 20th. election upcoming
helps knock down the sales tax
A penny saved is a penny earned. I made that one up, kinda dumb , but I like it.
There, I think that was an adequate explantion.

I agree with jpuntel. Some stores are closer. Also, saving a few bucks adds up. You could get a Big Mac with the $2 you saved :)

Another thing is how if one place has discs that are made in Japan and the other one has them made in Taiwan. You could get the ones in Japan if they are at the other store.

jpuntel,

Don't feel bad for being incorrect. I messed up and posted last weeks Staples media sale :(

That was kind of embarrassing.

Anyone know who Sony is using for their DVD-R/DVD+R media? Trying to decide whether to go with the Sony or the Fuji...

I just bought my dvd burner last week, this media looks pretty sweet (apperance wise) anyone used it? I like Vebatim and was thinking about picking up a couple packs. Great price if the media is up to snuff with their other stuff. Cool how they put it on special right when I was thinking about getting some :)

I've heard that Sony actually made those -R discs. I've only heard 0ne person out of about three dozen, complain about the quality of the -R discs. A few of the Sony -R 10pks at the Staples near me were TY discs.
The Sony +R 25pk I have from Staples are RICOH01.
