Wow, when I saw this my hand uncontrollably got a urge to hit the Buy Button. Anyone ever heard of these disks before? If they turn out not to be coaster material I would be very interested...

Sorry, but that's *TOO* cheap. I strongly doubght it's any good.

No doubt... I wonder if they give out samples?

Edit: They do. I'm gonna buy a sample disk and report back here with a quality readout. Hope they're good

"3 of speciments wouldn't complete a burn. 6 did complete a burn, but of those 4 were not completely readable. I was able to pull a directory off the discs, but attempts to read the data were mixed, as some files could not be read off the disc. The transfer would get to 30-50% and error out."

"Absolute rubbish. All DVDs burned successfully but about half failed in playback about 80% of the way through. Unable to read from DVD burner at same point."

Eh... I'll still test the sample with a grain of salt. We can always hope

Well, I got the sample today. I downsized my original Italian Job DVD with DVD shrink which made for a 4650mb file size and burned it on the supposed cheap media. Well, to be frank I was extremely impressed. Take a look at the pics I think I might just order a few more





Edit: Plays in my xbox, PS2 and crappy Emerson DVD player perfectly

Yeah, that Quality Score of 0 has convinced me...

I think only CD-Rs get quality scores. At least I have never seen a quality score above zero for my DVDs, and I've burned 1000s of them from Tayio Yuden to CMC...

Besides, I'm not trying to sell any thing here, I was just trying to point out that these things are excellent for the money

Umm, that's not a good sign. My TY DVD media usually has scores in the 90s for the Quality Score.

Maybe its the drive that you're reading the disc on?

Sorry, but PI Errors as high as 2485 (what is that, like 10 times the recommended high?) and PI Failures up to 612 is not good at all, even if they were dirt cheap. 20 cents for a disc with that many errors or 60 cents for a TY disc with few errors and known reliability? I'll spend the little more.

Damn, what do you burn, pure gold? I've seen graphs 10 times worse than that stuff...

Oh, and that 612 could have been caused by a spec of dust...

The reason his scores are so high for one thing is he used maximum read speed. That'll always give huge amounts of errors with almost any drive unless the disk is absolutely perfect. Try rescanning at 4x and post that image and we'll all see if it's a lot better. If the disks play OK with most machines it's at least usable and probably fine.
You also really need to use a DVD burner as readers don't give the sane type of error readouts and usually are high anyways.
