Both Maxell (8X) DVD+R & DVD-R and CD-R are made Japan and the DVD+R/-R can be burned at 16X with NEC 3500 burner. Good deal.

Make sure you check the Maxell packaging, since 99%-100% of all Maxell product is now made in Taiwan.

The last time I bought Maxell 8x +R, I got RITEKR03. That was fun.

That's why I only buy Maxell when I can look at it before purchasing it. I only pay premium prices for Premium media... none of this Ritek media under Maxell's name crap!

+R MIJ does not burn at 16X on anything I have. 12X at best! I think TCAS meant -R! TCAS has both. If that is correct, I would get the -R!
TCAS! You up?

etp; You are right the NEC 3500 with mod f/w burns Maxell (DVD+R 8X) at 12X and Maxell (DVD-R 8X) at 16X, my mistake. But looking into Staples WEB site and this week ad there is no indication that these Maxells being on sale.
