Comp USA 100pk dvd+ or - for $24.99. Unk brand and speed ,my guess is that they are store brand.

Circuit City:
TDK 25pk dvd +or- for $7.98

Office Depot:
Maxell 50pk dvd +or- for $17.99

Best Buy:
Verbatim 25pk dvd +or - for $9.99

Memorex 100pk dvd +or- for $39.99

I looked real close at the box shown in the ad and both appear to 16x media.

No compUSA here! maybe I will drop by one in Clearwater/St Pete in August.
Those verbat at BB are 16X and great media. Both +and -.

I wonder what Verbatim is up to.... they've changed radically as a business in the last 2 weeks :o

That must be made in TAIWAN one, the Maxell made in Japan DVD-R(8X) is Mxll RG03 and can be burned at 16X with NEC 3500.

Well, for one thing, their pricing has dropped almost 50%, and their business goals seem to have switched from professional to consumer. It may seem like just lower prices to the average consumer, but speaking as someone with a lot of ties to both Verbatim, and professional media markets, I'm a little concerned as to what the final outcome might be.

Although, it may just be Verbatim trying to dump product in anticipation of Dual Layer media taking over :lol:

CompUSA also has memorex 25 pack +DL for 79 if anyone cares and wants to take a chance of actually getting good useable media in the spindle :wink:
