Office Max media

Anyone seen a MID for the Office Max branded media? ..guessing CMC.

I don't know if its been mentioned before but Best Buy is selling the GSA H10L. The price is $60 on their web site and in the store.

Has anyone noticed if this drive has a high jitter like the other drives in the H10 series?

I dunno. If its like the 4166B, its based on a different chipset.

the H10L is like the H10N but with LightScribe.
it's built on the same chiset.
so yeah, probably has the same "high jitter when scanned on BenQ" issue.

Has anyone had any experience with HP DVD+/-R LightScribe if yes how is the quality of LS label with these disc? how fast you can burn labe on these dsc?.

I bought this, and was surprised to see these kits only have 1 year warranties, instead of 3 years like the bare drives do (model 6H500F0).
1 year warranty for a disk drive these days is weak - has to make you wonder if manufacturing has some quality concerns.

Kind of scary isn't it. Have you noticed some of their external drives have a warranty for only 90 days? After having two of their external (40 gig Fireballs) fail after very limited use I understand why... But in fairness, I can't say all the Maxtor drives are poor quality. I think its more a indication that each manufacture produces a less than stellar drive series occasionally.

I could be completely wrong, but.... As best as I can tell Maxtor started to shorten their warranty periods over the last couple of years. Take a look at the Maxtor stock chart that has a Western Digital ( tan line ) overlay. I got a feeling the stock holders started raising hell and Maxtor had to find ways to improve their financial reports..

It would have been nice to have had a few shares of Maxtor in the fall of last year. We could have doubled or tripled our money after Seagates acquisition announcement
