If its like the one I reviewed, its based on the Panasonic SW-9585.

It's difficult finding specs for Hammer hardware.

Just getting back from CompUSA and looked in some boxes..

The Connect Computer writer mentioned above @ $40 was a LG H10N. Also in the box are black and beige bezels, Nero Express, Power DVD and Power Producer. For comparison, the OEM drive without software or extra bezel cost about $37 shipped at Newegg.

The lightscribe writer was a BenQ 1655. Didn't look to see what software might be included.
