Gee, no wonder LiteON is considering pulling the plug on their ODD's with pricing this low! :o

anyone know if this drive is as good a scanner as previous (= 6S line) Lite On drives?

like with jitter and all that?

I'll probably order one of these myself as Lite-On America still hasn't gotten their reviewer drives in yet.

It will report jitter as seen below and guess what a DW-1800 is..
$30.00 for a drive with interesting possibilities.

That's good to know about the DW1800 as not all LH-18A1P clones support jitter or even bitsetting. #-o

To get jitter results for the Lite-On drives and clones you must scan @ 4X if you are using CD/DVD Speed 4.7.0.0. Ian, it is possible the clone you have does not report jitter but give it a try at 4X.

I'll give it a try at 4x and see if I can get jitter working.

I wonder why? Works here.

I wonder if that capability is stored somewhere else, like the boot code. Check and see if you can get it to change the booktype. That's another feature I can't get to work.

I can't change the booktype. Too bad because it does not even set +RDL to -ROM. I don't think the jitter capability is stored within the bootcode.

I don't think so either. I wonder if there is a slight difference in hardware then.
