Does anybody know anything about the Comstar (Pioneer) DVR-S111B external USB drive, which is on sale at Best Buy for $80 this week? Does this sound like a good deal?

Is the performance of an external DVD burner very good compared to an internal? Anybody using one?

I noticed Best Buy had marked those down when I stopped there yesterday. Judging by the model name (DVR-S111B), they're probably based on the DVR-111 or DVR-111D.
