They're still $250 at Costco also...
Model name is HD-D2, but it is identical...

My local Costco carries a RCA HD-DVD player. I'll admit I have an unfounded bias against RCA. Their older TV's had a lifespan of about 40 years, complete tanks. New stuff, I haven't given them the time of day to even look at enough to notice model #'s.

Probably the RCA HDV5000. I've heard very little about it. Kinda surprising since it was announced more than a year ago.

Walmart has it for $299:

I heard it was discontinued by RCA because it was just a Toshiba OEM and they couldn't sell it at the same prices Toshiba was offering their own brand players at (since Toshiba is selling below cost constantly).
Might just be a rumour though, but it makes a lot of sense.

I'm not sure how reliable they are, but they have the HD-A2 for $199.99.

As a regular DVD player, I'm quite impressed w/ the HD-A2. Does a dandy job of upconverting, and great audio. @$200 or less, people buying a new DVD player should be considering it, whether they're interested in HD DVD or not.

They seem to be a supplier of choice for some of the HD DVD fanboys at AVS and Highdefdigest. I think a bunch of them know the owner personally. It's rather slanted in terms of the format war, but should be reliable enough as a vendor.
