Thanks again for the information.

It's a shame the Memorex 48x are on sale now and not when I was in Florida.

Your Welcome Spazmogen

Yeah, what a bummer they weren't on sale when you were having fun in the states. :(

It seems that the digital research CD-RW is meaningless, since no stock at all.

Best Buy was probably just clearing out whatever stock they had. There was a better chance of picking up the drive at your local Best Buy when it opened on Sunday than ordering it online.

It varies a lot depending on your local store. I know there have been times when my store had stock while others complained that all was sold out, and visa-versa.

Yup, I have 3 BB's within 10 miles of eachother, and there are times where one BB is and has been completely out for awhile, while another has a shelf full of them.

My Best Buy had a bunch of 48X's - but they all looked like CMC (many had a foam ring holding the CD-Rs in place) - the only TY made Memorex's were rated at 32X. I bought them anyway for an Xmas gift! :)

Most of the Digital Research CD-RW drives I have checked out or were made by Benq (40X) or BTC (16X). BTC's now has a 48x16x48x drive. This could be another drive Digital Research is rebranding.
