Which format, size, and where?

1. There are too many types:

9.4GB DVD-RAM
4.7GB DVD-RAM
9.4GB DVD-R
4.7GB DVD-R
4.7GB DVD-R 2x
4.7GB DVD-R 4x
4.7GB DVD-RW 1x
4.7GB DVD-RW 2x
4.7GB DVD+R 2.4x
4.7GB DVD+R 4x
4.7GB DVD+RW 2.4x

to list only the most popular types.

2. Each region and store might have different prices. In the US, most good (?) web stores sell very cheap Princo 1x and 2x DVD-R media. In Japan, one can easily find various 4x DVD-R media for under $3 to $5. In the UK and Europe, the brand names are too different from other regions for me to catch up. In Canada and Australia, some people order from US stores. For DVD+R in the large US cities, Sams seems to be a very good source. In South Korea where I live, it is best to import any type of DVD recordable media from Taiwan directly.

Sorry, I am looking for both R & RW media that will work on the Sony DRU-500A. -/+ doesn't really matter to me, whichever is cheaper. I live in the US (California).

Just check out the hot deals section every Sunday when the weekly ads are posted. There is usually some good deals from retail stores such as Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City, OfficeMax, and etc. You should also check out Fry's Electronics if our close to one.

I looked at the current deals. I didn't see any really good dvd media deals. It seems like the major stores like best buy, circuit city, etc. don't really have good deals on dvd media yet, much less a decent selection.

Thanks, those seem like good deals. Up to now I have been paying around $2 per dvd-r.
